I had a pretty big crepe myrtle trimmed seriously last fall. Now the yard is full of crepe myrtles cropping up from the root system, some fifty feet from the tree. I have a hard time running the lawn mower over dozens of trees. But, what is actually there is a long root with no hair roots for many feet, and a sapling sticking out of the root. Is there any point in trying to put any in pots? I don't see anything surviving.
