Hi everyone,
If I'd like to let my small bonsai tree grow a bigger, then should I re-pot it into a bigger pot? Since it's been so used to remain small, would the accelerated make it difficult to control how I want the shape of the bonsai to become?
Thank you and I appreciate your help

It would be a lot easier to advice you if you upload a photo, or atleast tell us wich species you have.

You should plant it outside in it's natural environment. But of course all depends on what we're really talking about. A sapling? A mature tree? What species?

If you stop pruning, the tree will get bigger. If you give it a bigger container, this will go faster. If you plant it in the yard, it will go faster yet.
Question is.. Do you want to keep it as bonsai, or are you after a full-grown tree? If you want to keep it a bonsai, I would recommend putting it in a little bit larger pot and be les aggressive when pruning, allowing each year a few cm extra height.

HI, thanks for all of your responses! I have two bonsai, one is a Sichuan pepper bonsai and the other is a Chinese Elm. Here are some pictures:
Would you call them a sapling or a mature tree?
@leatherback, I don't want a full grown tree because I don't have a garden to contain it unfortunately but I'd like it to grow into a medium size, like this photo here for example:
This image is hidden for guests.
As of now it's just the right size to act as a decorative on a coffee table so if I move it to a pot as big as that bonsai next to the TV, I wonder if this drastic change to a bigger environment will have implications that I should consider, such as being more careful with wiring in order to maintain control over its shape.
Thank you!
Hong

only your adobe stock ppicture shows.
Just note, bonsai are not plants to decoratively place next to the TV, unless your TV sites next to a window. Unless of course you want to keep buying them every year agin.

Yes, thanks for the tip. 名媛直播 need sunlight of course. The purpose of the picture was to show the size that I'd like to grow my current one into. I thought if I showed an image juxtaposed to the TV or some kind of object gives a better idea of the size than if I just show a picture of a bonsai by itself.
Anyways, thanks for the feedback. I'll read a book on how to grow bonsais bigger.

I went fishing with a friend once, and I remember telling him over and over you can't fish fast. He was very active.
名媛直播's are sort of the same. You can let them grow but you can't make them grow. You can stop them from growing by a number of means - dig them up, don't water them, etc. You really can't make them get bigger. They will get a little bigger by themselves, but you can't do much other than put them in a large patch of ground outside full of real good soil. If you look you will see that is pretty much what Leatherback said. The only thing you can do is wait patiently.
