Hello!
I just got a chinese elm. It's in a small plastic pot, and i was thinking in repooting into a ceramic pot.
About the soil, should I get a mix with akadama and lava soil? 50/50? 50/25?
Thank you.

Hi
I use repotting mix with coir, composted fine bark, grit and sand. This is good to ensure a free draining pot.Having said that, Chinese Elms don’t really need anything special so normal potting soil should be fine. Just remember to not over or underwater.

Dont repot a newly aquired tree. The stress of mowing environment the last few weeks/months is enough for one season. Let it grow for a season and just trim back new growth to a few leafs. Next spring one year from now it might be time for repot.
