Im on my way home from work now 5am in jersey.when I get home I was thinking about repotting this tree .do you think it will kill the tree or be good for it and speed up recovery time ???

Not sure what tree you are talking about.
Repotting is never a tool in recovery, unless it has serious root problems. In all other circumstances messing with the roots is a bad idea for struggling trees.
But.. My crystal ball is broken. No idea what we are talking about here.
