名媛直播 on Sailboat was created by Sailor

I am new and bought a very young ( 5 mm thick) Gardenia 名媛直播 in a pot with humidity tray.

1. What do I do with the bag of stones, pushing down on the pot’s esrth? Or aparece it on the tray ?
2. Sailboats on a miring rotate around the anchor. So the sun is always changing direction angle on the bonsai.
Will it get confused with new position each half a day?
3. Sailboat on anchor will alway acomódate facing the wind... so the bonsai will receive the wind always on same side.

Sny experiences or comments are welcome.

Boat do swing around the mooring anchor, following current and wind changes.
The boat behaves as a flag, changing orientation following the wind.
So, for the bonsai, the sunrise comes from a different position every day. To compare it with a bonsai in land, is like you rotate the pot randomly every sunrise.

Would Plants expect same sunrise position every day?

I would think the tree would do OK. Conventional wisdom is to put the tree on a stand and leave it alone, and maybe that is to keep constant sun direction, but you might get more uniform growth. Who knows? You might do real well, so let us know.

You want to make sure the pot is anchored so it doesn’t slide around. That could be an issue in heavy weather.

There may be some advice on sailing webs.

I would be more concerned about the salt air and salt splashes. I am not sure about gardenia, but most trees dont like salty environment. Or....maybe your boat is in a lake?

The Gardenia bonsai is doing well on the sailboat.
It has to be protected from the wind.

She had about 10 buds ready to bloom, and the first one came last night, she has been opening for 12 hours now.
The scent is strong and pleasant.
I moved inside trying to keep the flower from the wind; and to scent theme boat inside.

I wonder why sim buds are dying and dropping.
