Hello! I've bought a weeping cherry tree Snow Fountain at a local gardening store. It's planted in regular soil in a bucket. I'd love to repot it into a bonsai pot with bonsai soil. Most, if not all, cherry blossom trees that I've seen flower before leaves open. It's late March, and my tree is flowering. However, its leaves have already started opening as well. All the instructions I've seen so far say that trees that flower before leaves open should be repotted after flowering but before their leaves open. I wonder if I should wait until next spring and repot before flowers and leaves break out of their buds or repot after the tree stops flowering this spring. I would greatly appreciate your advice on that. Thank you!

If it was mine I would not do it until next year. You need to see how the plant grows for a year. There is o need to be in a hurry to repot, the soil is perfectly fine for the plant
