Earlier today I found a tiny rosemary plant had rooted itself from the main plant, and I'd like to try to make it into a bonsai, but I don't know which soil I should use? I have some mix of academia, lava rock, and pumice, but I am not sure how much potting soil I should mix in or if I need to get a different bonsai soil mix? Thanks in advance

First of all, bonsai soil is for mature trees in shallow pots. There are absolutely no reason to spend your expensive soil ingredients on a vutting still in a deep pot. If you want, you can mix like 50/50 potting mix and perlite for better drainage.
There are no righns or wrongs in bonsai soil. Your final mix should not only be based on the tree species needs only. One make a mix that suits the growing conditions, climate, care regime and personal preferences.it is a bit of triad and error for everyone to find a mix best suitable for that person. And most people still experiment with different mixes far after they have found a prefered mix.
That is why we often say "ask 10 bonsai owners what is the best soil mix and you will get 12 different answers. "
