Here is mt sourwood. I'm on the fence about this tree. If it back buds this year I will reduce the height drastically. I want to eventually get rid of the nasty bend in the tree.If it doesn't..it's another one for camp landscaping.

Are you going to fertilize it a lot and hope for some back budding?

Fertilizing is in it's future,and so is a lot of hoping.I like the trunk up until the bend. One bad thing is the size of leaves on this tree. I don't think they will reduce that much. oh well.

Wouldn't you increase the chances of back budding if you fertilize it just as the new growth opens out? I duno that's with out any research just personal thought.

That would be great if I hadn't re-potted the tree and root pruned it. Fertilizing it now would injure the roots.
