Just got an ilex vomitoria from the local nursery and would love anyones expertise on what ratio of soil to use (inorganic-organic). Also any advice on fertilizer?

I'm in the usa living in Utah. The ilex I bought is a native holly to the south east US and doesn't like temps that are too cold. I've got it as an indoor tree perched in a west facing window right now. The pot is pretty root bound so I'm hoping to prune and repot for the spring

I'm in Southwest Florida and have been growing Ilex Vomitoria for several years in a inorganic soil mix: 50% lava rock and 50% pumice. I use a timed release fertilizer year round and liquid fertilizer once a month.
