I live in the west of france. During the summer months, if I go away, I can leave my shohin pots in the care of an automatic watering system.
But in November and then in December I will have to be away for periods of a week to ten days.
I've heard I can bury my trees in the garden soil. Can anyone advise me ? Do I bury the pot, or remove the tree from the pot and plant it directly in the soil. I use an acadama type of soil. Should I protect the pots from too much rain (ie under a tent of some sort)?

note, I do not have shohin. but during those months I do nothing for my trees. They are in a sheltered corner in my garden, get rained upon by nature. Out of full sun, out of the wind. And so far so good. No problems.

If you can find some others in the area, you might be able to swap favors. There may be a club. If you can't swap favors, at least you can find out what others in your area do.
