I have my trees on my patio at the rear of my house. This is the opposite side of the sun's track. I have attached a pic. Is this too much shade?

Ficus needs a lot of light to do well. I would have them in full sun for several hours a day. But I do not know where you are located. In some countries shade is brighter than our sun.

Thanks for your response. I'm in Florida. My trees have been on the patio for several months, and seem to be doing well. I'm just worried about the soil staying moist for so long.
