Welcome. First tell us what country you are in, next do not worry about bugs in winter they are not active. Next do not spray, you must water, but if it is winter where you are then the tree should be dormant and will not need much. Can you do a picture? This will help a lot. This species is hardy and needs no protection, but a sheltered spot in the garden is ideal,
